State Directors are credentialed and active at events across the country — here, one of PSC's new Florida directors covers a spring football game.
Prep Sports Central announced today the appointment of State Directors in eight new markets, marking one of the company's largest single-cycle expansions since the program launched. The new directors — based in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Minnesota, Nebraska, Oregon, and Utah — will begin operations ahead of the fall high school sports season.
"Every one of these states has been on our map for a long time," said the PSC leadership team in a statement. "Finding the right people to lead those communities is what takes time. We don't rush the process — we'd rather wait for the right person than fill a seat with the wrong one."
The State Director role is the operational backbone of the PSC network. Each director is responsible for recruiting and managing a team of credentialed photographers, videographers, and freelance reporters within their state. They coordinate coverage calendars, oversee content quality, manage partnerships with local schools and athletic associations, and serve as the on-the-ground face of the PSC brand.
Critically, they are not employees — they are operators. Directors run their state as a business, supported by PSC's national infrastructure, platforms, and brand standards. The company provides the tools; the director provides the local hustle and leadership.
"The best local sports journalism happens when someone actually cares about those kids. That's what we're looking for in every State Director we bring on."

Each new director gets immediate access to the full PSC ecosystem from day one:
The onboarding process runs approximately four weeks, including a structured training curriculum, one-on-one sessions with the corporate team, and a soft-launch period before the director goes fully live in their market.
With these eight additions, the PSC State Director network now spans 18 states. The company has indicated it expects to reach 25 active states before the end of the calendar year, with a target of full national coverage by mid-2027.
Applications for remaining open states are being accepted now. Interested candidates can learn more and apply at /programs/state-directors.
